Support For Carers

Here are some useful links to other organisations that may be able to offer further information, resources or services.

HOME CARE FACTS

72% of family based carers are financially worse off as a result of becoming carers. Two thirds spend their own income or savings, to pay for care for the person they look after, with many left in debt.

Many people are carers - parents, children, husbands and wives, even friends and neighbours and although it can be immensely rewarding it can often be very difficult and sometimes extremely stressful.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY BASED CARERS

Social services and the NHS rely on carers' willingness and ability to provide care. The average carer saves the government over £15,000 a year.

Do you want time to go shopping without having to rush, meet a friend for coffee or a glass of wine, play a round of golf or go for a swim, maybe go to that evening class you've always wanted to attend?
