Financial Support

Though there is a range of financial support available for home based carers, the main benefit is called Carers' Allowance.

The current rates are £66.15 per week. It is the only benefit where the recipient has to certify to work a set number of hours per week (at least 35 hours) and you must not earn more than £123 (after deductions) from any other paid employment. The rate is the same regardless of how many additional hours you might do above 35, or how many people you care for.
